Pi-Lit’s smart-flare technology — distributed in Malaysia by Muhibah Konsortium Holdings — has been accepted by MIROS (Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research) as a recognised tool for road-safety applications. The acceptance follows technical evaluation of the patented sequential-LED warning system against MIROS’s research-driven criteria for road-safety equipment.

About MIROS

MIROS (Institut Penyelidikan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia) is the Malaysian government’s national road-safety research institute, established under the Ministry of Transport. MIROS conducts research, evaluations and recommendations that shape Malaysian road-safety policy, standards and equipment specifications. Acceptance from MIROS is a strong validation signal for any road-safety technology entering the Malaysian market.

What MIROS evaluated

Pi-Lit’s smart-flare units use a patented sequential-LED pattern that creates a moving visual cue down a row of devices — far more effective at directing approaching drivers than traditional independent-blink flares. The technology has been deployed across United States Department of Transportation work zones and is used by emergency services worldwide.

Key technical attributes evaluated:

  • Visibility distance in day and night conditions, including in tropical rain
  • Battery life and durability for tropical climate use
  • Synchronization reliability across multiple units in sequence
  • Reusability — rechargeable replacement for single-use flares
  • Comparative effectiveness against conventional warning equipment

What this means for Malaysian deployment

MIROS acceptance positions Pi-Lit smart-flare as a recognised solution for Malaysian road-safety applications including highway work zones, emergency response, accident scenes, fleet operations, and event traffic control. Muhibah Konsortium Holdings is the sole authorised distributor in Malaysia and handles direct supply, training and after-sales support.

This acceptance complements Muhibah’s earlier MOU with LLM (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia) and the more recent acceptance by DBKL for Kuala Lumpur road-safety operations.
